Judith Carter has been the Executive Director for The Learning Collaborative since January of 2001.

She a has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for 34 years , serving as a teacher, Assistant Director and Director in both nonprofit and for profit childcare programs. She has worked with children of all ages and their families. Judith graduated from the University of NC at Greensboro and earned a BA degree in Child Development and Family relations. As the Executive Director of the Learning Collaborate, Judith has guided our preschool program to become and maintain its high quality status. Under her administration, The Learning Collaborative acquired national accreditation from the National Association for the education of young children (Naeyc), and 5 star rated license from the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education. Both of which we have maintained for over 12 year.

Judith is extremely proud of my two daughters. They both attended and graduated from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and they both received their undergraduate degrees from Elon University. Her oldest daughter is working on her dissertation in order to receive her PhD in Education Research Methods and Evaluation from the University of NC at Greensboro. She is currently a fellow at the Center for Disease Control. Her youngest daughter, a Strategic Communications major currently resides with her as she explores options for her future.

She feels extremely blessed to have been given the opportunity to love and nurture one of God’s special children, her son Jayden.

Contributing to the preparation of “at risk” children for success in school is truly my passion.
