On Monday, September 26, The Learning Collaborative opened the doors of its NEW building to 64 eager and exciting young scholars and their families!

Students enjoyed a warm welcome from teachers and staff to their brand new beautiful and exciting classrooms. For many of our young scholars, this was their very first time in an organized classroom environment and they could hardly contain their excitement. "My daughter asked all last night, 'Do I go to big school tomorrow. mommy? Do I get to go to my new school?' said one eager parent. "This is a beautiful preschool and I'm so grateful my child gets to go here."

Staff was on hand to welcome both children and their parents with open arms. "We want the parents to know that we care just as much as they do," said Pre-K teacher Vanessa Goodwin "We want them to trust us, and know that their precious kids are in good hands."

The children jumped right into their curriculum, starting their introductions to their classrooms, a "field trip" through the halls to tour their new school and some hands on work. As the rain subsided, they enjoyed some outdoor time, then came in for a healthy lunch provided by Friendship Trays. After lunch and more class time, they settled down for a well-deserved nap. Shortly thereafter, was reading time and some time in their class specials area. From playing dress up in the dramatic play area, to story time on the carpets, the young scholars enjoyed a day of exploration and education through play. By the end of the school day, there were even tears as our young scholars had made new friends that they did not want to leave!

We look forward to a GREAT year with our new friends!
